Improving Access at Sutton St Edmund Village Hall

The Challenge: Uneven Ground & Limited Access

Before we started, the area surrounding the hall was uneven and overgrown. This made it difficult - and in some cases impossible - for wheelchair users, parents with pushchairs, and older residents to navigate the site safely. Additionally, the hall required a reliable, clear route for an emergency fire escape.

The Solution: A Durable 75m Concrete Pathway

Our team handled the full groundworks package from start to finish. To ensure a professional and long-lasting result, the project involved:

  • Excavation & Sub-base: Clearing the overgrown terrain and creating a solid foundation.

  • Shuttering & Reinforcement: Setting the framework for a consistent 1200mm width.

  • Concrete Finishing: Pouring and smoothing a 75m path that links the front and rear of the hall.

The Result: A Safer Space for the Community

The new pathway provides a clean, low-maintenance, and durable solution. Whether it’s for daily use or busy community events, the hall now boasts a safe fire escape route and easy access for every member of the village.
